A map of the Holy Land, taken from Christian Sgrothen’s nine sheet map of 1570, which in turn was based on information gathered by Petrus Laicksteen, a Danish astronomer, 1556. The medallions in the title show the Resurrection, Nativity and Crucifixion, and the vignette in the bottom left shows Jonah being thrown overboard to be swallowed by the whale.
