Historie générale des voyages by Prévost
Antoine François Prévost d’Exiles (April 1697 – 25 November 1763), usually known simply as the Abbé Prévost, was a French author and novelist. In 1731 he wrote the famous Manon Lescaut, later turned into an opera by Puccini.
From 1746 onwards he published the first volumes of his Histoire générale des voyages. This work was completed after his death to 25 volumes. The oeuvre presents a full overview of the living of rulers, people, animals and plants overseas. Many engravings of views and maps were added, of which several were made by Bellin.

I + II: Indes Orientales (17 + 18 engravings and maps)
III – VI: Afrique (41 + 18 + 36 + 5 engravings and maps)
VII – IX: Chine et Tartarie (43 + 34 + 25 engravings and maps)
